Vincent Kompany joins list of legendary Bundesliga-winning managers

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has cemented his place in German football history by securing his second consecutive Bundesliga title. This achievement puts the Belgian tactician in elite company, as only seven managers in the history of the league, which dates back to the 1963/64 season, have won more championships.

The all-time leader remains the legendary Udo Lattek, who secured eight titles during his time with Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayern Munich. Ottmar Hitzfeld follows closely with seven titles, earned while managing both the Munich giants and Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga has been defined by brilliant strategic minds over the decades. Managers like Jupp Heynckes and Hennes Weisweiler both claimed four titles, while Pep Guardiola, Felix Magath, and Otto Rehhagel have each lifted the trophy three times.

The lineage of winners began in 1964 with Georg Knöpfle, who led FC Köln to the inaugural title. Since then, the competition has seen a variety of tactical eras, ranging from the dominance of the 70s to the modern successes seen today.
