Ukraine eliminated from Socca Euro 2026 in quarterfinals

The Ukraine national socca team has seen its run at the European Championship end at the quarterfinal stage. In a tightly contested match against Spain, the Ukrainians were denied a spot in the semifinals in the final moments.
Mykyta Komisar opened the scoring for Ukraine in the 19th minute. The team held onto the lead until the final moments, but Echebarrieta equalized for Spain in the third minute of stoppage time, forcing a penalty shootout.
In the shootout, Spain converted one of their three attempts, while the Ukrainian side failed to score any of theirs, resulting in their elimination from the tournament.
This marks the second consecutive European Championship where Ukraine has been eliminated in the quarterfinals. At the previous tournament, the team faced a similar exit after losing to France at the same stage.
