Real Madrid and Como have finalized an agreement regarding the future of Argentine midfielder Nico Paz. According to Spanish outlet Diario AS, the Italian club has purchased the remaining economic rights for 60 million euros.
The deal represents a strategic shift in approach for the Spanish side. Although they initially considered bringing the player back to the Santiago Bernabéu, the club's board concluded that another season of consistent first-team football in Italy would best serve Nico Paz's development. The player himself expressed a strong desire to remain under the guidance of head coach Cesc Fàbregas, where he has established himself as a technical leader.
Despite the sale, Real Madrid has retained significant control over the player's future. The new agreement includes a buy-back clause estimated at 80 million euros, valid from next season, along with a right of first refusal should another club make an offer for the midfielder.
This arrangement allows the reigning European giants to maintain a stake in the youngster's career while ensuring he continues his progression in Serie A. The club continues to view him as a vital asset for their long-term project.
