Trevoh Chalobah set for Como move after Chelsea reach agreement

Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with Como for the permanent transfer of Trevoh Chalobah. The deal brings a conclusion to a long-running transfer saga, with the defender expected to travel to Italy soon to finalize the move.

The agreement is reportedly worth a €30m fixed fee plus €6m in add-ons, alongside a sell-on clause. This package aligns with the valuation Chelsea placed on the 26-year-old at the start of the summer window.

For Como manager Cesc Fabregas, the signing is a statement of intent as he looks to bolster his defensive line with technical, experienced players. The Spanish coach has prioritized building from the back, a profile that fits the academy graduate perfectly.

Chalobah had already settled personal terms on a long-term contract several weeks ago. The move offers the defender a chance to secure regular first-team football in one of Europe’s top five leagues, following the path of other English players who have successfully transitioned to Serie A.

Having made 151 appearances for Chelsea after loan spells at Ipswich, Huddersfield, and Lorient, Chalobah’s departure marks another exit of a homegrown talent from Stamford Bridge. With new defensive reinforcements arriving in West London, his path to the starting lineup had become increasingly difficult.
