Netherlands pay tribute to former manager Hans Jorritsma
The Netherlands national team held a minute of silence before their training session in the United States to honor former team manager Hans Jorritsma, who passed away at 77.

The Netherlands national team began their World Cup preparations in the United States with a moment of mourning. Before the start of training at their base in Orangeburg, near New York, the squad held a minute of silence to honor former team manager Hans Jorritsma.
Hans Jorritsma passed away on Friday at the age of 77. The cause of death was not disclosed. A former field hockey player, he represented his country in 65 matches, including appearances at the 1976 Olympic Games and the 1978 World Cup.

In football, Jorritsma was a member of the coaching staff for the Dutch national team during the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Jurriën Timber joined the group following an extended rest period granted after his participation in the Champions League final.
