Burnley head coach Nicky Hayen has been sacked after only 14 games in charge, following a disappointing start to the Championship season.
Hayen's final match was a 4-1 defeat at Lincoln City on Saturday. Despite taking an early lead, the Clarets conceded four times, marking their sixth defeat of the campaign and leaving them 22nd in the league table.
The Belgian manager was appointed on 10 July, tasked with securing promotion after the club's relegation from the Premier League. Hayen arrived with a strong reputation, having led Club Brugge to the Belgian title in 2024.
However, the season has failed to gain momentum. Burnley have not won a league game at home for over a year and currently hold the division's worst defensive record, having conceded 25 goals in 12 Championship games. The club has managed only one victory in their last 24 league matches.
