Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has shared his expectations ahead of the opening match of the updated Champions League stage against Inter Milan. The match is set for September 8 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Portuguese manager stressed that despite the new tournament format, where each team plays eight matches, he is solely focused on winning. Mourinho noted that the squad is in good shape after recent training sessions and is ready to fight for the result, despite some squad issues heading into the game.

The manager also spoke about his former player, Cristian Chivu, who has started his coaching career. Mourinho spoke warmly of him but noted that personal relations will be put aside during the match.
Regarding the lineup, Mourinho announced that forward Endrick may get a few minutes of playing time following a long absence, as he just completed his first full training session with the team. The manager clarified that he does not expect Endrick to play for more than five to ten minutes.
