Dumfries: "Mourinho and I love Inter, but my focus is Real"
Denzel Dumfries reflects on his deep bond with Inter Milan and discusses the possibility of a future return after his spell at Real Madrid.
Former Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries, now playing for Real Madrid, has spoken openly about his enduring affection for the Italian club. Despite moving to Spain, the defender remains a dedicated follower of the 'Nerazzurri' and keeps in close contact with his former teammates.
Dumfries also praised his working relationship with Jose Mourinho. "I like him a lot. He is a great manager, and you only have to look at what he has done in his career. We talk a lot about Inter because the period we spent there was very special for both of us. We love Inter, we still follow them, and we talk about them," he said.
The player explained that his departure from Inter after five years was driven by a desire for a new challenge. "Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world for me, and it is a privilege to play here. It had nothing to do with Inter, because I had a wonderful time there. Sometimes in life, you feel you need new challenges, and Real was the perfect club for me," he explained.
Regarding a potential return to Milan in the future, Dumfries remains open but focused on the present. "Come back? We'll have to see whether they still want me after my career in Madrid! In any case, I'll be tied to Inter for the rest of my life. For now, though, I want to do the best I possibly can at Real and win trophies," the defender concluded.
