Real Madrid are actively looking for defensive reinforcements after Raul Asencio was ruled out for a long period due to injury. The club has identified a shortlist of three candidates to bolster their backline.
The top priority for the board is their own academy graduate Jacobo Ramon, currently playing for Como. Madrid sold the player to the Italian side in the summer of 2025 for 2.5 million euros, while retaining 50% of his rights and a buy-back clause that can be activated next summer for 9 million euros.
However, the main obstacle to the transfer may be the player's own reluctance to return to Madrid, as he is currently enjoying consistent playing time in Italy.
In addition to Ramon, Real Madrid are monitoring Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund and Alessandro Bastoni from Inter.
