Nottingham Forest have rejected a second bid from Manchester City for midfielder Elliot Anderson. The offer was valued at £120m, consisting of an initial £106m plus add-ons.
Should the deal go through, it would surpass the £105m Arsenal paid for Declan Rice in 2023, making it the record transfer fee for an English player. Despite the rejection, Manchester City remain determined to sign the 23-year-old, who has emerged as their primary target to bolster the midfield following the departure of Bernardo Silva.
Anderson himself prefers a move to the Etihad Stadium over Manchester United, who have effectively withdrawn from the race due to a desire to avoid a bidding war. The player is currently with the England squad preparing for the World Cup.
