Joey Veerman voices preference for new Netherlands head coach

Veerman stated that he found the reasons given for his exclusion from the squad strange, but he emphasized that he held no ill will toward his teammates. He noted that he followed the matches closely and wished the team success despite his absence from the tournament squad.

Regarding the search for a new national team manager, Veerman made his preference clear, stating that he believes Arne Slot would be an excellent choice. He noted that Slot had previously shown interest in signing him for Feyenoord, acknowledging the coach's tactical pedigree. Veerman also praised Peter Bosz but noted he understands why the manager opted to stay with PSV to pursue more silverware.

The KNVB is currently in discussions with Slot regarding the vacancy, though reports suggest that contract terms, specifically regarding the duration of the deal, remain a point of negotiation.
