Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez has issued a formal apology to the club's supporters. The Argentine striker acknowledged that his conduct and remarks during the summer transfer window, when he publicly expressed a desire to leave the club, were inappropriate.
The player addressed the situation following a victory over Deportivo, where he scored his first La Liga goal for the club since February.
I would like to apologize to our fans for what I said during the World Cup. It was my mistake—both in how I expressed myself and in when I did it. If I were a fan, I would have been angry too. Julian Alvarez
Alvarez highlighted that he values the loyalty shown by the fans despite his previous comments. He noted that he is currently feeling more confident physically and technically, and he remains fully committed to working hard alongside his teammates.
The striker expressed his hope that through hard work and humility, he can eventually win back the support of the stands. He emphasized that his current goal is to contribute to the team's success in the upcoming matches.
