Genoa eyes another Al-Ittihad player after Mitaj deal

Following the successful loan deal for Albanian full-back Mario Mitaj, Genoa are reportedly continuing their transfer business by targeting another player from Al-Ittihad. The Italian side has added Nigerian forward George Ilenikhena to their list of summer targets.

Manager Daniele De Rossi is actively seeking a new striker to bolster his attacking options for the upcoming season. The 19-year-old Ilenikhena, who joined Al-Ittihad last winter from Monaco, is viewed as a potential solution to the squad's needs. During his time in Saudi Arabia, he has struggled to make an impact, making only six official appearances without recording a goal or an assist.

The move could prove challenging for the Italian club. Al-Ittihad currently have limited depth in the forward position, boasting only two out-of-out strikers in their squad. This scarcity of options makes the prospect of parting ways with Ilenikhena a difficult decision for head coach Jens Wissing.
