Portuguese striker Norberto Beto is set to end his three-year tenure at Everton. The player is nearing a move to Italian club Fiorentina as he seeks more consistent first-team football.
Everton’s shift in focus towards the development of Tierno Barry made the 28-year-old surplus to requirements. Fiorentina, who remain familiar with Beto's capabilities from his time in Serie A with Udinese, submitted a €20 million offer that proved decisive.
With only one year remaining on his current contract, the deal provides a financial return for the English side. The forward is expected to undergo a medical examination on August 31 to finalize the transfer.
Beto leaves Goodison Park having recorded 25 goals and three assists in 113 appearances for the Toffees.
