ESPN names 11 players who disappointed at the World Cup
One week after the conclusion of the 23rd World Cup, ESPN has compiled an XI of the biggest underperformers from the tournament.

A week has passed since the conclusion of the 23rd World Cup, where Spain claimed their second title. While celebrations continue, ESPN has shifted focus to the tournament's underperformers by naming their XI of the "biggest flops".
Uruguay's Fernando Muslera leads the selection after costly errors contributed to his side's early exit. The defensive line is comprised of Joshua Kimmich, Virgil van Dijk, Marc Guéhi, and Nico O'Reilly, with the latter criticized for a lapse that allowed Lionel Messi to create goals.
The midfield includes Federico Valverde, Scott McTominay, and Bruno Fernandes, all of whom struggled to make a significant impact. Up front, Christian Pulisic, hindered by an early injury, and Florian Wirtz were also singled out for failing to live up to their reputations.
Neymar received the harshest assessment. ESPN questioned his inclusion in the squad entirely, noting he played only 37 minutes and suggesting his selection prevented more in-form players, such as João Pedro, from contributing.
