Striker Gabriel Jesus has offered high praise for Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal. Reflecting on the most gifted players he has encountered, the Brazilian forward noted that the 17-year-old winger shares key technical qualities with Neymar.
Neymar is the most virtuoso footballer I've ever played with; he could do everything with both feet. For me, he's untouchable. But it's true that Lamine has some of his qualities, like his dribbling and personality. He's still very young, but he does things like a mature player, as if he were 30 years old. Gabriel Jesus
Jesus described the teenager as a genius who continues to improve each season. Beyond the stylistic comparison, the striker threw his support behind Yamal for the Ballon d'Or, stating that the youngster is the player he has enjoyed watching the most in recent years.
Yamal enters this weekend's clash against Getafe in exceptional form, having already contributed seven goals and four assists in league play this term. As Hansi Flick's side looks to extend their perfect record at the top of the table, the winger remains the focal point of the Barcelona attack.
