London's Chelsea are closely monitoring the situation of Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa. According to reports, the club is seriously considering a move for the 26-year-old during the upcoming transfer window, with a potential offer of around €60 million.
Securing a new first-choice goalkeeper has become a top priority for manager Xabi Alonso. The Spanish coach is looking to address the instability shown by current number one Robert Sanchez during the previous campaign. Stamford Bridge officials hope that a reliable presence in goal will help the team make a definitive step forward in their pursuit of the Premier League title.
However, Porto are in no rush to part ways with their star. The Portuguese club could significantly increase their asking price depending on Costa's performance at the upcoming World Cup. Last season, the goalkeeper made 49 appearances across all competitions, helping his side win the Portuguese title, with his current contract running until 2030.
