Midfielder Cammy Devlin has spoken for the first time about his move to Rangers, admitting that the period following the expiration of his contract at Hearts was incredibly stressful. The 28-year-old found himself in a state of limbo just before heading to the World Cup.
Devlin recalled that balancing tournament preparations with the noise surrounding his club future was draining. "I thought it would be a good idea going there off-contract, but it wasn't. It was too stressful. It was hard just being in the moment being at the World Cup and dealing with all that and the noise around it - and my dad asking me every day what's going on," he shared.

The decision to join the Glasgow side was solidified by the arrival of Derek McInnes as Rangers manager, with whom Devlin had worked closely at Hearts. The midfielder noted that the opportunity to play for such a prestigious club was "one that was too good to pass up."
Despite the heartbreak of missing out on the title last season, Devlin remains focused on the future. He expressed gratitude to Hearts for the opportunity to play abroad, but emphasized that being a Rangers player is a special privilege he could not refuse, and he is now determined to push for silverware with his new team.
