Body of 33-year-old man discovered at Charlton Athletic stadium

A man's body was discovered at The Valley, the home ground of Charlton Athletic, on Tuesday morning. Emergency services were called to the stadium at approximately 11:15 following concerns for a person's welfare, where the 33-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the possibility that the man fell from a height prior to his death. It is believed the incident may have occurred as early as Monday, meaning the body remained on the premises for nearly a day before being located.
In response to the tragedy, Charlton Athletic postponed a scheduled U21 match against Bolton Wanderers, moving the fixture to the club's training ground. The club released an official statement expressing condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and confirmed it is assisting the police with their ongoing inquiries.
