Getafe will not sign Dani Carvajal: Club president confirms talks collapsed
The move for the experienced defender to Getafe has fallen through. Club president Angel Torres confirmed that negotiations have come to a standstill.

The transfer of Dani Carvajal to Getafe as a free agent will not go ahead. Club president Angel Torres has confirmed that negotiations with the 34-year-old defender have stalled and the deal is currently off.

It was previously reported that the player had undergone a medical examination and agreed on the terms of his move to Getafe. The club was only awaiting approval from La Liga regarding financial compliance before announcing the signing. Getafe had stepped up negotiations following an injury to their right-back, Kiko Femenia.
Carvajal left Real Madrid at the end of the 2025/26 season after 13 years at the club. During his time in Madrid, he made 451 appearances and won numerous trophies, including six Champions League titles. The defender remains a free agent, and his future remains uncertain.
