Tottenham could be set to lose a key defensive figure as Argentine centre-back Cristian Romero has officially expressed his desire to leave the club this summer.
While Barcelona and Inter Milan were previously linked with the 28-year-old, negotiations have stalled due to the north London club's firm 50 million euro valuation of the player.
In a surprise development, Arsenal have now emerged as potential suitors for the defender. The Gunners are currently assessing options to bolster their backline following the injury to William Saliba and are reportedly considering a move for the player despite the fierce rivalry between the two north London clubs.
Romero enjoyed a productive campaign last season, making 32 appearances, scoring six goals, and providing four assists. The defender currently has three years remaining on his contract.
