Arda Güler named Champions League 2025/26 Breakthrough Player
The Real Madrid midfielder has received the new UEFA award, which replaces the tournament's best young player prize.

Real Madrid midfielder Arda Güler has been officially named the breakthrough player of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season, according to the tournament's press office.
This award was introduced this season, replacing the previous honor for the tournament's best young player. A key condition of the new accolade is that a player can win it only once in their career.
During the previous Champions League campaign, the midfielder featured in 14 matches, contributing two goals and four assists. Across all competitions last season, Güler made 51 appearances, recording six goals and 14 assists.
