Altay Bayindir set for Celta Vigo debut in Copa del Rey
The goalkeeper, on loan from Manchester United, is expected to start for Celta Vigo against Salamanca UDS this Wednesday.
Altay Bayindir is set to end his extended spell on the sidelines. The Turkish goalkeeper, who joined Celta Vigo on loan from Manchester United in early August, is expected to make his first appearance for the club this Wednesday.
The 28-year-old is in line to start in the Copa del Rey fixture against Salamanca UDS. Since arriving in Vigo, Bayindir has yet to play a single minute, serving as the backup to starting goalkeeper Andrei Radu.
Bayindir's last official club appearance dates back to September 27 of last year while at Manchester United. Following a difficult match against Brentford, he fell out of favor at Old Trafford and has since only featured for the Turkish national team.
The upcoming cup match serves as a crucial opportunity for the goalkeeper to regain momentum. Managerial plans also suggest that other summer signings, including Abdoulaye Faye and Couhaib Driouech, may feature in the squad to build match fitness ahead of a busy part of the season.
