Former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk has offered his take on the race for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. The Ukrainian athlete believes Bayern Munich and England forward Harry Kane is currently the frontrunner to claim football's most prestigious individual award.
Despite his preference for the English striker, Usyk acknowledged the strength of the competition, noting that other global stars are also in the frame for the trophy.
"My main favorite to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or is Englishman Harry Kane, who plays for Bayern Munich. However, Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé also have real chances," Usyk told DAZN Boxing.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 26, at the London Palladium. The event is set to begin at 22:00 Kyiv time.
