Zinedine Zidane set to be named France head coach on Tuesday
Zinedine Zidane is expected to be officially appointed as the new France head coach this Tuesday, July 28. The appointment marks the end of Didier Deschamps' 14-year tenure.

The French Football Federation (FFF) is finalizing the transition from the Didier Deschamps era to the Zinedine Zidane era. Following months of regular discussions between Zidane and FFF president Philippe Diallo, the appointment of the former Real Madrid coach is nearing completion.
Official confirmation of Zidane’s appointment is expected to occur on Tuesday, July 28. The Federation had hoped to hold a tribute for Deschamps to honor his 14-year mandate, but the outgoing manager declined the offer.
Zidane is set to sign a four-year deal. While the announcement is imminent, a press conference may be scheduled separately from the official confirmation. Work is currently ongoing to finalize a significantly revamped and expanded coaching staff, with some new members expected to take up their roles only by early September.
The upcoming international break in late September and early October will serve as the first major task for the new manager. The schedule includes four UEFA Nations League matches against Turkey, Belgium, Italy, and Belgium again.
