Cadiz secured their first win of the 2026/27 Segunda Division season on matchday eight, defeating Leganes 4-0 at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla. Ukrainian striker Vladyslav Kopotun, making his second consecutive start for the hosts, played a pivotal role in the victory.
Kopotun made an immediate impact, providing an assist for Antoñito Cordero as early as the 6th minute. The 25-year-old then added his name to the scoresheet in the 54th minute, extending the lead for Albert Celades' side. He was substituted in the 84th minute with the game well under control.
This dominant performance ended Cadiz's winless run of seven matches, allowing the club to move out of the relegation zone. Kopotun, who joined the team as a free agent from Alcorcon in July 2026, has now recorded two goals and one assist in seven appearances this season.
The squad also features Georgian right-back Giorgi Gocholeishvili, currently on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk, though he is presently sidelined due to injury.
