UEFA to pay tribute to Nepal flood victims with moment of silence
UEFA will hold a moment of silence across all Champions League fixtures this week in memory of the victims of the catastrophic floods in Nepal.

European football's governing body has confirmed that every Champions League league-phase fixture this week will begin with a special tribute to the victims of the catastrophic floods in Nepal. Players, officials, and supporters across all host stadiums will observe a moment of silence prior to kick-off as a mark of respect.
In addition to the silence, a banner bearing the message "You are not alone Nepal" will be displayed on the pitch to demonstrate solidarity with those affected. UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin emphasized that the entire European football family stands together to express deep condolences and support to the people of Nepal as they continue to recover from the disaster.
The tragedy, triggered by a glacial collapse in late August, devastated the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. With at least 1,355 confirmed deaths and thousands reported missing, the gesture on football's biggest club stage is intended to help sustain international awareness as rescue and recovery operations continue across the region.
