Simone Inzaghi surprises with Al-Hilal starting XI against MC Alger

Al-Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi has surprised supporters with his starting line-up for the friendly clash against MC Alger. This match marks the third fixture of the team's training camp in Austria as they prepare for the 2026-2027 season.

The most notable selection was new right-back Mohamed Mahzari, signed recently from Al-Taawoun. Despite reports suggesting fitness assessments might keep him sidelined, the Italian manager handed him a starting spot. Additionally, Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez was included in the XI, defying widespread speculation regarding a potential summer exit.

Inzaghi paired Nunez in attack alongside Mohamed Kader Meite and Brazilian winger Malcom, who has also been linked with a move away from the club. Meanwhile, recent recruit Crysencio Summerville, signed from West Ham United, was named on the bench with the potential to feature in the second half.
