Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has provided a reassuring update to supporters regarding his health while attending the Gran Gala Del Calcio. The midfielder confirmed he will be sidelined for a few weeks to undergo a planned medical procedure to address a mild, benign arrhythmia.
I’m fine, the procedure was something I’d planned to do with the club for quite a while. We’d already talked about it in pre-season, I’ll be out for a few weeks. Scott McTominay
Beyond his health, McTominay addressed speculation surrounding his contract status at the club. Despite establishing himself as a vital component in the Napoli midfield since his arrival from Manchester United, the Scottish international revealed that there have been no recent developments regarding an extension to his current deal, which has two years remaining.
McTominay stated that he is currently prioritising his performances on the pitch over contractual discussions. Since joining the Partenopei, he has enjoyed significant success, including winning the Scudetto in the 2024–25 season and the Supercoppa Italiana. Over 82 appearances for the club, he has recorded 27 goals and 10 assists.
