Burnley have officially announced the signing of Japan international midfielder Reo Hatate. The 28-year-old has joined the club on a permanent basis, penning a three-year contract at Turf Moor for an undisclosed fee.

This move marks Hatate's first professional challenge in English football. He departs Glasgow after a highly successful five-year tenure at Celtic, where he made over 190 appearances and established himself as a vital part of the squad.

This is a great move for me. It's my first time playing in England and it's a fantastic club to be joining. I'm hoping to bring my experience and knowledge to the dressing room and help the team on the pitch as much as possible to achieve our aim. Reo Hatate

The addition of Hatate brings proven winning experience to manager Nicky Hayen's midfield options. During his time in Scotland, the Japanese international won five league titles, two Scottish Cups, and two Scottish League Cups, twice earning a spot in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year.

Following the completion of the deal, Hatate will now integrate into the squad at the training ground. His immediate focus will be on building match fitness and earning a starting position as the team pursues its season objectives.
