Rangers sign Kelsy and loan Bouanani

Rangers have confirmed two major additions to their squad on the final day of the summer transfer window, bringing their total of summer signings to 14. The Ibrox club has secured Venezuela striker Kevin Kelsy and Algeria winger Badredine Bouanani.

Kelsy, 22, joins from Portland Timbers for an undisclosed fee, signing a four-year contract with an option for an additional year. Having previously played for Shakhtar Donetsk, the forward arrives in Scotland with significant experience. This season, he has recorded 10 goals and three assists in 16 appearances for the Timbers in Major League Soccer.

Alongside Kelsy, Rangers have brought in 21-year-old winger Badredine Bouanani on a season-long loan from Bundesliga side Stuttgart. Bouanani, who moved to Germany from Nice last year, adds attacking depth to Philippe Clement's squad. He is already familiar with Scottish football, having previously featured in European ties against Celtic.

These late moves represent a busy conclusion to the transfer period for Rangers. By adding both a prolific young striker and a versatile winger, the management aims to provide the necessary depth to compete across all competitions throughout the upcoming season.

The club is now focused on integrating these new arrivals into training. Both players are expected to be available for selection immediately as the team looks to build momentum in the early stages of the Scottish Premiership campaign.
