Sporting CP defender Eduardo Quaresma reflected on his team's 1-0 victory against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. Despite a difficult few days for the club, the team secured a crucial win.
The player highlighted the tactical familiarity within the squad despite the changes:
Our tactics with this coach are not a new system for those who have been in the team for a long time. We know it very well. What the coach did was intended to help us. Eduardo Quaresma
Quaresma also expressed gratitude to former coach Rui Borges and insisted that the decision regarding the new manager rests solely with the board. He emphasized that the players' duty is to give their all for the club regardless of who is in charge.
Sporting currently holds nine points from four matches in the Champions League league phase. Quaresma described this as a solid achievement and confirmed the team's ambition to keep pushing for more points as the competition continues.
