Premier League: Man City edge past Coventry, Brentford draw with Sunderland
Manchester City secured a narrow win against Coventry City, while Yegor Yarmolyuk's Brentford shared the points with Sunderland in the third round of the Premier League.

In the third round of the Premier League, Manchester City claimed a narrow 1-0 victory at home against newcomers Coventry City. Erling Haaland scored the only goal of the match in the 26th minute, securing three points for the reigning champions.
Meanwhile, Brentford played out a 1-1 draw against Sunderland. Ukrainian midfielder Yegor Yarmolyuk featured for the hosts, coming off the bench in the second half. Vitaly Janelt opened the scoring for the Bees, but Le Fee equalized from the penalty spot late in the game.
Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham played out a goalless draw. Fulham suffered a 2-3 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace in a high-scoring encounter, while Brighton and Leeds United ended their respective match in a 1-1 stalemate.
