Borussia Mönchengladbach secured their first victory of the current Bundesliga campaign, defeating Stuttgart 3:2 in an away fixture. Despite conceding early to Ermedin Demirović, the visitors showed resilience to turn the game around.
Joe Scally equalized for the visitors before halftime with a clever finish. In the second half, Shuto Machino and 17-year-old talent Moya extended the lead, the latter capitalizing on a save by Stuttgart goalkeeper Dennis Seimen.
The match marked a significant milestone for Yukhym Konoplya. The 27-year-old Ukrainian defender, who transferred from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer, made his official debut for the club after coming on in the 71st minute. He helped the defense withstand late pressure from the hosts, who managed a second goal through Demirović but could not force an equalizer.
While this result provides Borussia Mönchengladbach with their first points of the season, they remain at the bottom of the table. Stuttgart, currently balancing a demanding Champions League schedule, sits 14th in the Bundesliga standings with 6 points.
