Officially: Atletico Madrid signs Lee Kang-in as Bernardo Silva alternative

Atletico Madrid have officially confirmed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Lee Kang-in. The South Korean international has committed his future to the Spanish club, signing a long-term deal that runs until the summer of 2031.

The move serves as an alternative for Diego Simeone's side following their failure to secure the signature of Bernardo Silva. After departing Manchester City, Silva opted to join local rivals Real Madrid, forcing the Rojiblancos to pivot to a new target with similar technical qualities.

Diego Simeone was a primary driver behind the deal, pushing the board to finalize the transfer. According to reports, the fee for the midfielder is set at 35 million euros.

This transfer marks a return to La Liga for Lee Kang-in, who previously played for Valencia and Mallorca before moving to France in the summer of 2023.
