Nico Williams returns to action for Spain at the World Cup
Forward Nico Williams has recovered from injury and featured for Spain in their victory over Belgium.

Spain forward Nico Williams has returned to the pitch, easing concerns about his participation in the remainder of the World Cup. The player had suffered a muscle injury during the group stage match against Uruguay following a challenge from Nicolas de la Cruz, but has successfully completed his recovery.
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente named Williams in the squad for the match against Belgium, and the forward made a second-half appearance. Spain secured a 2-1 victory at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
“I feel relieved. It has been a difficult year, but life teaches you to get back up when you fall. I am very happy to be able to help the team, which is what matters most to me,” said Nico Williams.
For Williams, this appearance marks a significant personal recovery, given his struggles with injuries throughout the season at Athletic Bilbao. The player expressed gratitude for the support received from his teammates and family during his rehabilitation.
With this win, Spain has qualified for the tournament's semi-finals. La Roja will now face France in a highly anticipated battle for a spot in the final.
