De la Fuente: History owes Spanish football more than one Ballon d'Or
The Spain head coach hopes to see Spanish success in both the player and coaching categories at the upcoming Ballon d'Or awards.

Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has shared his thoughts on the race for the Ballon d'Or, expressing his belief that Spanish football has historically been undervalued on the individual stage.
I don't know what criteria are used, but I have always said that I want a Spaniard to win, both among the players and the coaches. I think we all deserve it, so we shall see. Luis de la Fuente
De la Fuente also touched upon his own chances for the coach of the year award. While he noted that it is not his style to promote himself, he admitted that a victory would be a welcome recognition for his entire coaching staff.
Regarding the player award, the manager stated: "History owes Spanish football more than one Ballon d'Or. It was very pleasing when Rodri received it, and now I would like to see another Spaniard with this award." He added that he believes all the Spanish nominees are currently the best in the world at their respective positions.
