Newcastle United reach agreement for Matthias Jaissle
Newcastle United have agreed a compensation fee with Al-Ahli to sign coach Matthias Jaissle on a four-year contract.

Newcastle United are closing in on the appointment of German coach Matthias Jaissle. The Premier League club has successfully negotiated a final agreement with Saudi side Al-Ahli regarding the release clause required to terminate the coach's current contract.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle will pay approximately £9.5 million (€11 million) to secure Jaissle's services. The coach is set to sign a four-year deal, with an official announcement expected within hours.
This move signals the end of Eddie Howe's tenure at St. James' Park. Al-Ahli had initially been firm regarding their financial rights, but Newcastle's decision to meet the compensation fee has cleared the path for one of the summer's most significant managerial changes.
Jaissle, who joined Al-Ahli in 2023 as the successor to Pitso Mosimane, leaves the club after a highly successful period. His tenure included two consecutive AFC Champions League Elite titles and a Saudi Super Cup. The German now prepares to transition to the Premier League for a fresh challenge.
