Arne Slot linked with Newcastle job as pressure mounts on Jaissle

Newcastle United are facing a period of uncertainty, with the future of manager Matthias Jaissle increasingly questioned amid a decline in performance and mounting pressure from the fanbase. Reports have now linked the club with a move for former Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

According to Football FanCast, Slot has emerged as a potential solution to revive the club's project. The Dutchman was previously targeted by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund to take over at Al-Ahli last summer, but he declined the offer to pursue opportunities within Europe.

Former Manchester City defender Michael Funk has drawn comparisons between Slot and Pep Guardiola, highlighting the manager's commitment to tactical precision and coaching principles. There is a belief that Slot could rebuild the squad and build upon the foundations laid by former manager Eddie Howe, who famously led the club to two Champions League campaigns and a League Cup trophy in 2025.
