A non-league match between Andover Town and Paulsgrove was abandoned after the visitors were reduced to just six players on the pitch.
Andover Town were leading 8-0 when the Hampshire Premier League match was called off. Andover manager Robbie Skeates described the situation as a "complete farce," noting that four Paulsgrove players failed to return for the second half, and another left the pitch injured after the eighth goal.
I've been involved in football a long time and I've genuinely never seen anything like what happened today from an opposition side. Robbie Skeates
Football laws state that a game cannot continue if a team has fewer than seven players. While Paulsgrove claimed via social media that the players were genuinely injured, the league has confirmed that an official investigation into the abandonment is now underway.
