Marquinhos' lookalike reflects on special meeting with the defender
Josué Maciel, known as the lookalike of Marquinhos, shares the story of his encounter with the Brazilian player and his expectations for the World Cup.
Josué Maciel, who has built a social media presence as a lookalike of the Brazilian national team and PSG defender Marquinhos, recently opened up about his journey. He explained that his path as an influencer began five years ago when his presence at a stadium led to a suggestion to create a dedicated profile.
Josué revealed details about a personal encounter with the player that took place during a carnival event in São Paulo. Facilitated by the player's wife, the meeting allowed Josué to finally connect with his idol. "I have already had contact with Marquinhos; I met him through his wife," he shared.
The lookalike also reflected on the negative side of his online fame, specifically mentioning receiving threats after Marquinhos missed a penalty in a previous World Cup. However, he noted that the support he receives nowadays far outweighs the criticism.
Regarding his outlook for the 2026 World Cup, Josué remains cautiously optimistic. He believes the Brazilian team has the quality to reach the semi-finals and hopes to see Marquinhos lift the trophy, cementing his legacy alongside legends like Cafu and Roberto Carlos.
