Marc Dos Santos: "Leagues Cup should be split between both countries"

LAFC head coach Marc Dos Santos has suggested that the Leagues Cup needs to evolve toward a format with an equitable distribution of matches between the United States and Mexico. He believes the current setup favors those playing on home soil.

Dos Santos acknowledged the financial factors behind the tournament's organization but noted that playing more games in Mexico is a step in the right direction. "I think it is positive that some matches are now played away, like in Seattle or Toluca. I was in Toluca with LAFC and the atmosphere was spectacular, truly spectacular," he commented.

The coach emphasized that competing in Mexico remains a unique challenge for MLS clubs. While he believes MLS teams are currently at the same level to compete, he noted that his own side still needs to grow to maintain their home performance levels when playing on the road in Mexican stadiums.
