JJ Gabriel: Manchester United forward says 'my dream is to win Ballon d'Or'

Manchester United forward JJ Gabriel has publicly stated that his dream is to win the Ballon d'Or. The comment comes as the 16-year-old nears a move to Real Madrid.

Although still registered with the Premier League club, the teenager is currently training alone in Spain after relocating with his family. While no formal contract has been signed, reports indicate a verbal agreement has been reached with the Spanish giants.

Gabriel, who made waves by scoring a hat-trick on his UEFA Youth League debut, was approached by Spanish outlet Marca, where he confirmed his long-term career aspirations. The forward previously earned the Premier League's Under-18 player of the season award while still only 14 years old.

The player's acquisition of a European Union passport is expected to facilitate his move to a non-English club. Manchester United would be entitled to compensation for the youngster's departure, with the fee structured differently if he moves outside the Premier League.
