Liverpool blocks Rio Ngumoha transfer to Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich had reached an agreement for Rio Ngumoha, but Liverpool intervened to confirm the player will remain at the club this summer.
17-year-old Liverpool forward Rio Ngumoha has attracted significant attention from European giants following his performances this season. His breakout displays made him a notable figure in the transfer market, drawing interest from Bayern Munich.
German media reports indicate that representatives from the Munich club met with the player's camp in late May, successfully agreeing on the terms of a potential transfer. Bayern manager Vincent Kompany had also approved the move as part of the club's recruitment strategy.
However, the situation changed on Thursday, June 4, when Liverpool informed Bayern that Ngumoha is not available for transfer this summer. With the deal now off the table, Bayern is shifting its focus to other targets, including Eintracht Frankfurt's Nathaniel Brown and PSV Eindhoven's Ismael Saibari.
