Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has officially ruled out a move for Florian Wirtz despite the midfielder's challenging start to life at Liverpool. Since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in 2025, the German playmaker has found it difficult to replicate the form that made him a standout talent in the Bundesliga.

With speculation mounting that Bayern might offer the 23-year-old an escape route back to Germany, Hainer was quick to shut down the rumours. He confirmed that the club is satisfied with its current squad and is not considering a transfer approach for the player.

I almost feel a bit sorry for him that he hasn't yet found the form in England that he had at Leverkusen, because we also need him in the German national team. Herbert Hainer

Despite the modest output of two assists in eight appearances, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola continues to show full faith in Wirtz, keeping him as a fixture in the starting line-up. Iraola clearly sees the midfielder as a vital component of his tactical setup, regardless of the criticism surrounding his recent performances.

The pressure now shifts to Wirtz to prove his value on the pitch. As the season progresses, he faces the challenge of increasing his influence in the final third and justifying the consistent minutes granted to him at Anfield.
