Ligue 1 opens investigation into homophobic chants during Marseille vs PSG match

The French Professional Football League (LFP) has officially launched a disciplinary investigation into Marseille. The move follows reports of homophobic chants from the stands during Sunday's match against PSG, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the visitors.
The LFP disciplinary committee began reviewing the file on Monday. Although the match was not interrupted at the time, the commission is now tasked with establishing the full circumstances of the events to determine potential sanctions for the club.
Marseille has previously faced disciplinary action for similar offenses. Last season, the club was hit with a total of 212,500 euros in fines for incidents involving homophobic chanting. Furthermore, authorities imposed a partial stadium closure for six matches, alongside four suspended partial closures.
