Hugo Cuypers called up by Belgium for November international break
Monterrey striker Hugo Cuypers has been called up to the Belgium national team and will miss the Liga MX clash against Querétaro.
Monterrey forward Hugo Cuypers has received a call-up to the Belgium national team for the November international window. The striker will join his national squad for matches against Turkey and Italy, marking an important milestone in his career.
While the call-up highlights his strong form in the current tournament, it presents a challenge for Monterrey manager Matías Almeyda. Cuypers will be unavailable for the upcoming match against Querétaro in the final stretch of the Apertura 2026.
Monterrey will face the match against the Gallos Blancos with two significant absences, as Jesús Manuel 'Tecatito' Corona has also been called up to his national team. With both players unavailable, the coaching staff will have to adapt their offensive strategy to maintain their pursuit of league objectives.
