Real Madrid forward and France captain Kylian Mbappe has secured the 2026 World Cup Golden Boot after finishing as the tournament's top scorer. With ten goals in eight appearances, he became the first player since Gerd Muller in 1970 to score double digits in a single World Cup campaign.
The landmark achievement was reached during the third-place play-off against England, where Mbappe scored twice in a 6-4 defeat. Despite his individual heroics, France's campaign was marked by their semi-final exit at the hands of eventual champions Spain.

Mbappe's path to the ten-goal mark began with braces against Senegal and Iraq in the group stages. He maintained his scoring rhythm in the knockout rounds, finding the net against Sweden, Paraguay, and Morocco, before reaching the ten-goal mark with two goals against England.
