Jude Bellingham hails 'bright future' for Liverpool prodigy Rio Ngumoha
Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham praised Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha following his senior England debut, while Thomas Tuchel demanded more tactical discipline from his squad.
Following England’s 1-0 victory against New Zealand at Raymond James Stadium, Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham took a moment to honour the team’s latest debutant, Rio Ngumoha, in the dressing room.
Bellingham, who returned to action following an injury, presented the 17-year-old with his cap and offered a glowing endorsement of his potential:
Congratulations on an amazing debut. I think we all enjoyed watching it, and obviously you're going to have a really bright future at your club and hopefully with us as well.
While Ngumoha’s milestone was a highlight, manager Thomas Tuchel was critical of the team's collective performance, describing the first-half display as "freestyle" football. The German coach is pushing for more tactical structure as the team prepares for the upcoming World Cup.
Meanwhile, the teenager's rise has attracted attention from abroad. Reports suggest that Bayern Munich have identified the winger as a key target to refresh their forward line. However, Liverpool are determined to retain the academy graduate as a central figure in their long-term project under head coach Andoni Iraola.
