Jorge Jesus has officially confirmed he is leaving his role as head coach of Al-Nassr following their Saudi Pro League title win this week. His departure comes amid intense media speculation regarding a potential move for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to the Saudi league.
During an interview with Sport TV, Jesus was asked if he would feel proud if Guardiola were to succeed him at the club. The Portuguese coach dismissed the suggestion, stating: "Pride? No... why? He's the one who should be proud to replace me, not me for him."
Jesus revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo played a decisive role in his decision to take the job. He explained that he only accepted the challenge because of Ronaldo's personal invitation and a promise to help the side secure the championship. Although he was initially offered a two-year deal, Jesus insisted on a one-year contract due to the intense mental and physical demands of the Saudi league.
The manager is now expected to decide on his next career move in the coming weeks. Reports indicate serious interest from Turkey, with Fenerbahce—the club Jesus managed between 2022 and 2023—among the teams linked to his services.
